District 6780 Goals for 2010-2011

 

TO ADVANCE THE OBJECT OF ROTARY THROUGH: 

 

INDIVIDUAL CLUB ACHIEVEMENT

 

By clubs earning recognition of achievement as evidenced by:

  • Twenty-two (22) clubs receiving the 2010-2011 Presidential Citation with Distinction
  • Twenty-two (22) clubs receiving the 2010-2011 Presidential Citation
  • Eleven (11) clubs receiving the 2010-2011 District Governor's Citation with Distinction
  • Thirty-three (33) clubs receiving the 2010-2011 District Governor's Citation

AGGREGATE CLUB ACHIEVEMENT

 

By increasing the ability of The Rotary Foundation to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace as evidenced by:

  • District 6780 per capita giving to The Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund equaling or exceeding $150
  • District 6780 per capita giving to Rotary's $200 Million Challenge equaling or exceeding $40
  • Twelve clubs (12) receiving Every Rotarian, Every Year Club recognition
  • Six (6) clubs receiving 100% Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member Club recognition
  • Fifty-four (54) clubs achieving District Star Club status
  • Forty-four (44) clubs receiving Polo Eradicator Club status
  • Membership in the District 6780 Paul Harris Society increasing by an average of one new member per club or by sixty-five (65)
  • Twelve new Benefactors receiving recognition
  • Three new Bequest Society Members receiving recognition
  • Contributing $25,000 of 2010-2011 District Designated Funds to the Rotary Peace Centers
  • Contributing twenty per cent (20%) of 2010-2011 District Designated Funds to Rotary's $200 Million Challenge

By increasing the capacity to serve through increasing membership as evidenced by:

  • Membership in the district increasing by 2.5% from the membership level as of June 30, 2010
  • Forty-five (45) clubs receiving the District "Reach for Rotary" award
  • Two (2) new clubs being established as provisional and/or receiving charters  

By continuing growth of and participation in New Generations programs as evidenced by:

  • One (1) new Rotaract club being sponsored
  • Three (3) new Interact clubs being sponsored
  • Developing a plan for and begin the transitioning of Youthact Clubs into the Interact Program
  • Forty-four (44) clubs sponsoring students for RYLA
  • Sponsoring/hosting 12 Youth Exchange Program students 
  • Sixty-seven per cent (67%) of the District Interact clubs being represented at the 2011 District Interact Conference 

By continuing to provide educational and leadership development opportunities for non-Rotarians as evidenced by:

  • The awarding of two (2) Ambassadorial Scholarships
  • The awarding of James L. Bomar, Jr., Scholarships, the number being consistent with the earnings of the Bomar Foundation
  • The awarding of the Fred Brown Interact Award of Merit scholarship
  • Hosting the inbound GSE team exchange from District 3350, Thailand

By continuing the strong tradition of humanitarian service within the district as evidenced by:

  • Fifty-four (54) clubs receiving the Globe Club recognition
  • Twenty per cent (20%) of the 2010-2011 District Designated Funds are awarded to clubs for humanitarian projects through the District Simplified Grant process
  • Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) of the 2010-2011 District Designated Funds are awarded in support of matching grants
  • Twenty per cent (20%) of 2010-2011 District Designated Funds contributed to the polio eradication program

By continuing the strong tradition of motivation, education and leadership development activities within the District as evidenced by:

  • Presenting educational and motivational seminars in the areas of The Rotary Foundation, membership, and new generations
  • Conducting a pre presidents-elect training seminar (pre-PETS)
  • Participating in the Mid-South PETS
  • Conducting a district assembly
  • Continuing to conduct the Rotary Leadership Institute
  • Participating in the 2011 Multi-District Conference in Nashville, TN

 


 

 

District 6780 Goals and Objectives for 2009-2010

 

Carry out the Long-Range Plan Vision Statement: District 6780 will be a district that facilitates club growth by identifying, investigating and eliminating barriers that are common to many clubs in the District, and by establishing District programs that enable and accelerate club growth, so that the clubs grow in many directions and the District is seen as an enabler of clubs and leaders among other districts.

 

Club Achievement

  • Presidential Citation - All 65 clubs to receive the RI Presidential Citation
  • District Governor's Citation of Excellence - All 65 clubs to receive the District Governor's Citation of Excellence
  • Awards of Excellence - All 65clubs to submit at least one entry for the District Awards of Excellence

Implement Successful Service Projects

  • All 65 clubs to have a successful service project in each of the Four Avenues of Service (vocational, community, international, and club service).

 New Generations

  • A New Generations club chair to be appointed in all 65 clubs.
  • The New Generations club chair and/or representative attend a New Generations seminar.

Rotary Friendship Exchange

  • To increase awareness of the Rotary Friendship Exchange.

Membership (Sustain and Increase)

  • Net one member increase per club.
  • Charter one new club.
  • Membership Chair and/or representative of all 65 clubs attend a Membership seminar.
  • At least one member from all 65 clubs represented at the 2010 District Conference in Chattanooga.
  • At least 16 Rotarians from District 6780 attend the 2010 International Convention in Montreal, Canada.

Bomar  Interact Scholarship and Fred Brown Interact Award of Merit

  • Implement a plan to increase awareness of the Bomar Interact Scholarship & Fred Brown Interact Award of Merit in all 65 clubs.

Disaster Response

  • Implement a disaster response plan to begin presenting to all 65 clubs.

District Communication / Public Relations

  • Educate all Rotary clubs on the use of public relations and district website.

History of District 6780

  • Have at least 30 clubs submit a history of their club for the website and newsletter.

Leadership Development

  • Have all 65 clubs have at least one representative enrolled in the District Leadership Academy and/or Rotary Leadership Institute.

Rotary Foundation

  • Increase the number of Foundation Permanent Fund and Major Donor contributors.
  • Ask each club to encourage and assist every new Rotarian to become a Foundation Sustaining Member.
  • Encourage Paul Harris Fellows to continue to give.
  • Reach or exceed the Polio Plus 2 Million Dollar Challenge.
  • Star Club District Goal of $140 per capita and 65 Star Clubs.
  • Paul Harris Society membership increase by 10 members from the number as of June 30, 2009.
  • Successful District Simplified Grant awarding $50,445 for new projects.
  • Successful Group Study Exchange with District 3500 Taiwan and District 3270 Afghanistan/Pakistan.
  • Club President, Foundation Chair and/or a representative of all 65 clubs attend the Foundation Seminar.
  • Increase awareness of Peace Fellows/Grants for University Teachers.
