2007-2008 District Governor Robin Textor
Past District Governor Robin Textor is a charter member of the Oak Ridge Breakfast Rotary Club. He served the club in several positions and as President (1986-87). He led a Group Study Exchange team to southwest Germany in 1988, served on the District GSE Subcommittee from 1989 to 1995, and chaired the subcommittee from 1991-95.
He is a graduate of the first class of the District Leadership Academy and served as a Governor's Group Representative for three terms, most recently in 1996-97. Robin served as district secretary from 1997-2005. Robin is a member of the Paul Harris Society, and he and Charlotte are Benefactors and Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation.
Robin currently serves the district as Dean of the Leadership Academy, as Chairman of the District Finance Committee, and as a Facilitator for the Rotary Leadership Institute.
Robin is a graduate of White County (Tennessee) High School, Tennessee Technological University, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Drexel University. For 39 years, Robin worked at the three Department of Energy facilities in Oak Ridge, developing computer solutions to problems in fluid and solid mechanics, and managing applications software development, networking and cyber security. In 2006, Robin retired as manager of Enabling Technologies at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Earlier in his career, Robin taught applied mathematics at the universities of South Carolina and Tennessee - Knoxville.
He has served and held leadership positions on the boards of directors of United Way of Anderson County, First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge, Girls Incorporated of Oak Ridge, Leadership Oak Ridge, Scarboro Day Care Center, the local chapter of the National Management Association, and the Clinch Valley Literacy Council. For exercise and recreation, Robin enjoys bicycling and has comleted the Assault on Mt. Mitchell, the Cheronala Challenge and the 3 State 3 Mountain Challenge and other century rides.
Robin and Charlotte have been married 46 years and live in Oak Ridge. They have a daughter and a son and three grandchildren. Charlotte is retired from a career as an office manager and project coordinator for DOE contracts and has worked with Robin on most of his Rotary endeavors. She is an Honorary Member of the Oak Ridge-Breakfast Rotary Club.
