• Criteria • Timetable • Peace Fellow Alumni
Rotary Word Peace scholarships/fellowships are designed to support individuals pursuing a 1-2 year master's degree program or a short-term certificate in international relations, sustainable development, peace studies, and conflict resolution.
The selected Peace Scholars/Fellows may study at one of six Rotary Centers for International Studies:
- Duke University and The University of North Carolina (master's degree)
- International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan (master's degree)
- Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina (master's degree)
- University of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England (master's degree)
- University of Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (master's degree)
- Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand (professional development certificate, with two sessions per year: Jan.-April and July-Sept.)
Master's degree scholarships provide funding for transportation, tuition, fees, room and board, and other limited expenses. Certificate scholarships provide for transportation, with other expenses covered by employers or the District.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong grades.
- Possess the training, academic background, and work experience in a relevant field. required for a master's degree program.
- Have at least 3 years full-time work experience in a relevant field (5-10 years for the certificate program).
- Be proficient in more than one language.
- Possess excellent leadership skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a career dedicated to peace and international understanding.
Applications must be made through and endorsed by local Rotary clubs. Neither Rotarians nor their family members are eligible to apply.
