The Star Club program honors those clubs whose contributions to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Giving Fund average $100 per member or more.
Winchester was the first club in our District to achieve STAR status; in the 2004-2005 Rotary year, the club's members were first to submit a per capita average of $100 or more. There were 31 STAR clubs in the program's first year.
In the second year of the program (2005-2006), there were 41 STAR clubs. Members of the Farragut club took the honors for being the first club to achieve STAR status, a position they maintained through 2010-2011.
In the third year of the program (2006-2007) all 65 clubs in the District earned Star Club awards.
In the fourth year of the program (2007-2008) our district's giving topped $516,000, the highest total ever given by District 6780 Rotarians. This means District 6780 will receive $258,036 from the SHARE Funds for our District Designated Funds (DDF) in Rotary year 2011-2012. Rotary District 6780 also broke its giving record with per capita giving to the Annual Funds Program of $146.11 in 2007-2008.
In the fifth year of the program (2008-2009) our district's giving to Annual Funds (Star Club) was the 2nd highest amount raised by District 6780 Rotarians, $470,974. That results in $235,487 from the SHARE Funds in year 2001-12.
